IKHTISAR SENYAWA

PNC-27 mengandung domain pengikat HDM-2 dari p53 (residu 12–26) yang dihubungkan dengan peptida yang dapat menembus membran. PNC-27 berikatan dengan HDM-2 yang diekspresikan secara berlebihan pada membran sel kanker, membentuk kompleks pori transmembran oligomerik yang menyebabkan kematian sel nekrotik secara cepat (“poptosis”). Mekanisme sekunder melibatkan gangguan langsung pada membran mitokondria. Sel normal tidak memiliki HDM-2 pada membrannya sehingga tidak terpengaruh, terlepas dari status mutasi p53.
